Under-appreciated whites.(Retail Training)

Don't get me started on the subject of varietal wines. I agree that naming wines by grape variety has been an enormous aid to consumer understanding and a terrific marketing impetus for California and other New World wine countries. But the success of the varietal concept has relegated blended wines, regional wines and wines from minor grape varieties to second-class status. As a result, wine drinkers are missing out on some great wines--and some terrific values.
